The 5 thing meme is burning up the blogosphere as each blogger who receives it tags (passes it on to) 5 more bloggers. Michael Seaton tagged me and when I clicked over to Mitch Joel's post on the subject I discovered that I'm supposed to share 5 things you wouldn't know about me.
I'm finding this to be a very interesting phenomenon. At first I kinda groaned and was reminded of the risks I've taken over the years by breaking every chain letter/email sent my way regardless of the dire warnings about perpetual bad luck.
This 5 things meme brings no promise of fame, fortune, or luck and yet it continues to spread like wildfire. I expect because like me, people are interested in finding out something interesting and/or unique about people they know in a work context or just as an online persona. For example, Michael (who tagged me) is on the AIMS board of directors and I talk to him regularly about AIMS activities. And yet I would never have known he was such a 'bad boy' in his youth!
This blog is very much a community with a lot of contributors so I'm going to change it up a bit and include 5 things you wouldn't necessarily know about AIMS.
- Next event will be Jan. 24th (I'll have details on the website by the end of the week)
- The AIMS board meets 6-8 times a year
- It has been too long since we had an AIMS social! To be remedied as soon as patio season hits. (although we will have an afternoon event with cocktail reception very very soon)
- Our newest volunteer is Liz Hosein who has done a great job handling all the requests from members wanting to join the AIMS Linked In group.
- The redesign for the AIMS newsletter is almost complete...coming to your inbox in the New Year
