AIMS member Jaime Lea Foss is looking for general demographics on Canadian internet users. She sends in the following post...
I am putting together a marketing package for internet offerings for a client and would love to add some data in the introduction of age, income and any other key findings on internet users and benefits of marketing and/or advertising on specific or general sites. Do you know of a site or do you have any data that would be useful?
I just received the Canadian Media Digest prepared by the Canadian Media Directors Council and published by Marketing Magazine. It has some good general information about dial-up versus broadband, household access, and usage based on gender and household income. The '06/'07 issue is available for purchase ($25). The '05/'06 issue is available online at http://www.cmdc.ca/pdf/2006_Media_Digest.pdf
Anyone have other sources or stats to share?
The canadian Internet Project published "A comparative analysis of Internet users and non-users in Canada and the world: Behaviour, attitudes and trends." "The findings in this study are based on the responses of 3,014 randomly selected individuals in Canada, 18 years of age or older, who participated in a telephone survey in May and June 2004." You can download the PDF at http://www.cipic.ca/en/results.htm
