Well this new blog for one thing! I'm thinking of it as a combination of blog and discussion forum (a blogum?). A place for members to interact and discuss ideas, challenges, and best practices with other members. (Sound familiar? If you’re a long time member you’re probably remembering the AIMS Discussion List aka ADL right about now).
Since I started working at AIMS a few months ago I've had a lot of people ask me about the ADL. While we don't want to use that technology again the desire for member communication is as strong as ever. Which is great because helping members talk and share with other members is a big part of what AIMS is all about.
We’ve seen dramatic changes in the online landscape and there’s never been a better time to talk about what we’re experiencing. The good, the bad, and what we’ll remember for next time.
Similar to the ADL, members can send in their question to the moderator (me). I’ll post it for comment and discussion.
With regard to AIMS events. This past Fall/Winter most of the events of interest were scheduled in the AM, which made it impossible for me attend. Living outside of Toronto and working just at Steeles and Keele, means getting to downtown TO for a one-hour AM session is just not a reasonable use of business day hours.
It would take over an hour to get downtown, pay huge $ for parking, attend a session that lasts maybe 1-1/2 hours and then spend another hour to get out of TO. There goes an entire morning!
Used to attend almost ALL of the afternoon sessions. This was a better use of time, as going into TO in the afternoon was quicker and then once the event was over so was rush hour traffic. Also provided a more relaxed forum for meeting and greeting fellow AIMS members, which often provided at least 50% of the information of value.
Please offer more afternoon sessions again.

Ahhhh, the breakfast versus afternoon debate...always a good one!
I'm constantly asking members about their preference. According to my very unscientific and informal tally we're split 50/50 on the breakfast versus afternoon issue. So we will definitely be having a good number of afternoon events going forward.

Congratulations on getting this going in a blog format. I think this is a great complement to the CMA Blog and the Marketing Strategy Canada Forum
We are picking up your feed at MSC Forum to encourage our members to check your blog out (we consolidate best of marketing feeds as well as having a forum, articles base and directory). Good work.
